Question by gsel55: Consumer info on Mobility Scooters and online retailers?
I have been shopping for a mobility scooter. I am 350lbs. give or take. I can walk but I have breathing difficulty and can’t walk far. I really enjoy days out with my wife such as festivals, fairs and shopping trips. I found a scooter on planetmobility.com that I am interested in but I can’t find out much about consumer opinions on scooters or scooter retailers. Does anyone have info on Shoprider Scooters or about planetmobility.com — good or bad?

Consumer Direct is a government funded advice service

Your agreement is with the retailer, not with the manufacturer

not much but if you read up your learn a lot?
Fact that Im having problems with the retailer that sold me a M48GT 8 weeks ago and believe me they are so reluctant to put it right 1, the seat ate secure, 2 the front wheels are off baleens so the tyres have no treed after 8 weeks o apparently the reason for this is you may lath The road is rougher than the pavements ha,ha 3, within one week of owning this Scooter they had to replace the main wiring loom
Makes you think these people are only interested in your money not your safety!

Question by wanda k: Powerchairs and scooters whats the best and why?
My mom needs a powerchair or scooter but she doesn’t know what brand to buy. What is your experience with them or someone you know.
I would also like websites that she can check out concerning ratings and pro’s and con’s

http://pridemobility.com Pride is the brand my company sells, it’s a good brand. Powerchairs are more expensive (over $ 5,000) and scooters are way less… but you have to take into consideration who is transporting the patient and how much they can lift or how hard it would be to disassemble (scooters are easier)… Invacare also makes powerchairs

In the UK are there any mobility scooters that can be transported in a car standing without disassembling?

Question by princess x: In the UK are there any mobility scooters that can be transported in a car standing without disassembling?
i am trying to help my disabled mother find a mobility scooter that can be driven in the back of a car without the need to take off the battery or fold it. That perhaps could be driven in with a ramp at the rear of the car. She has limited mobility and is not able to use a wheelchair or electric wheelchair. Your help would be so much appreciated if not life changing as it means my mother would finally gain her independence. If you could point me in the direction as to finding a car model and the model of the scooter and would i need to have it road saftey checked? thank you in advance x
